Artificial intelligence has taken on a crucial role in contemporary society. A human-created agent that can function as a stand-in for human intelligence is known as artificial intelligence. It is among the most groundbreaking developments in modern technology. As a result of the globalization of technology and services, both developing and undeveloped nations are profiting from the use of artificial intelligence.

Imagine being awakened at six in the morning by a machine! Your newspaper or tea breakfast was also on your table in the morning. Not having to prepare breakfast is a concern. A device that you command is accurately and promptly prepared. Just consider how helpful these will be for your day-to-day work!

Robots with artificial intelligence are the only thing that makes all of this possible. Throughout the day, this artificially intelligent robot can perform all of your tasks with accuracy and without interruption. All you have to do is accurately give the instruction, though.

For instance, you do not have to speak with a salesperson when you proceed to purchase in the expansive showrooms of Amazon, the biggest online retailer in the world. Because every single person working in the store is an artificially intelligent robot. About one lakh of these workers exist. Programmers are therefore in high demand while people with traditional skills are losing their employment.

Bangladesh’s government’s ongoing attempts to create Digital Bangladesh have made it one of the most technologically advanced developing nations. A prosperous and remarkable future for the nation’s information and communication technology sector has been predicted by the government’s initiative to accelerate the penetration of technology in many sectors, including transportation, health care, education, agriculture, and other commercial service sectors. The provision of services in the fields of healthcare, education, crime prevention, and transportation has allowed developing nations like Bangladesh to improve the social lives of their citizens.

Artificial intelligence development in Bangladesh

Bangladesh has embraced and implemented artificial intelligence to digitize the nation in light of the swift globalization of technology and information in the global workplace. With cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence-rich workplaces in both the public and private sectors, the government of Bangladesh is striving to create a fully digital workforce. To decentralize government service delivery and reach out to the underserved, the government has authorized the creation of Union Digital Centers (UDCs), a one-stop access point for information and services.

There are currently 422 million people served by more than 5838 digital centers in Bangladesh. Numerous portals have been established to offer services to both the public and private sectors. Because of the widespread adoption of digital access in government agencies, the widespread use of mobile phones, the ease of internet connectivity, the profits from IT exports, and the extensive use of information and communication technologies in a variety of government activities, Bangladesh is currently regarded as an emerging nation for information technology outsourcing.

Bangabandhu Satellite-1, the nation’s first satellite, was successfully launched in 2018, ushering in the era of space travel for Bangladesh. Bangladesh’s government recently announced plans to roll out fifth-generation technology nationwide by 2024. Through this enormous project, digital connectivity will be revolutionized, higher internet speeds will be made possible, and other technical improvements will be enabled.

Artificial intelligence’s function in Bangladesh’s many industries

The Application of AI in the Agriculture Sector

An important factor propelling Bangladesh’s economy is agriculture. More than thirty percent of the population depends on it for their living. AI is being used in Bangladesh’s agriculture industry for a number of purposes, including soil testing, crop disease diagnosis, irrigation control, etc. With the goal to help people learn improved farming techniques, the government has also established more than 200 information centers.

The website Krishi.gov.bd and the helpline 3331 offer more support. Bangladesh’s economy depends on agriculture for almost 14% of its GDP, according to the 2018 Economic Survey.

Artificial Intelligence in the Transportation Industry

Bangladesh’s transport industry is undergoing a change driven by artificial intelligence. Artificial intelligence has accelerated the development of road infrastructure, including the building of expressways and metro rail systems. Systems powered by artificial intelligence are enhancing traffic flow, easing congestion, and raising the general level of transportation efficiency. To fully realize artificial intelligence’s potential in this industry, however, issues like data privacy and cyber security must be resolved.

The Use of Artificial Intelligence in Teaching

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has the potential to completely transform Bangladesh’s educational system. By using AI, we can increase student results, tailor training, and improve the learning environment. AI-powered systems can analyze student performance data to find learning gaps, strengths, and limitations. Teachers may concentrate on having deeper conversations with pupils by using AI to automate administrative duties.

The Use of AI in the Financial Industry

Bangladesh’s finance industry is quickly evolving due to artificial intelligence. Financial institutions such as banks are utilizing artificial intelligence to enhance risk management, detect fraud, and provide better customer service. AI-powered systems can spot patterns and anomalies in vast volumes of data, which helps detect fraudulent activity early on.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Healthcare

The healthcare industry has observed improvements in diagnostics, medication development, and surgery because of artificial intelligence (AI). However, the potential of AI has not yet been fully realized in Bangladesh’s healthcare sector. Despite a few early uses, there is still a lack of broad acceptance. Many people’s health care outcomes are therefore insufficient. Bangladesh must overcome the obstacles of inadequate technical infrastructure, a shortage of qualified specialists, and other issues to resolve this issue. Through proactive measures, the government may leverage AI’s disruptive potential and raise the standard of healthcare for all Bangladeshis.

Artificial intelligence (AI), from the workplace to daily life, has become a vital aspect of human existence. In addition to simplifying living, AI has impacted and expedited development across a number of industries. It influences not just a nation’s economic, technological, and social advancement but also people’s information choices and exchanges. In the global marketplace, artificial intelligence forecasts a nation’s future economic standing. In terms of technology, it guarantees a country’s place in the world.
