The initial stages

In a little Gujarati village in 1932, Dhirubhai Ambani was born. His mother Jamnaben Ambani was a homemaker, and his father Hirachand Gordhanbhai Ambani taught in schools. The family’s financial situation was not ideal. So, at a very young age, he entered the war of life. He overcame every stage of life thanks to his ability and diligence. When he was just 17 years old, he moved to Yemen. To support the family financially, he began working there as a clerk. His monthly pay was just 300 taka at the time.

Dhirubhai embarked on his enterprise upon his return to India in 1958. His aspirations and unwavering attitude were what kept him going even though he had just 500 taka at the time. Living in a one-room bungalow in Mumbai, he began trading a variety of goods from this location, including spices and fabric. His reputation in the corporate world took eight years to develop.

Reliance Industries’ forerunner, “Reliance Commercial Corporation,” was established by Dhirubhai and his brother Champaklal Damani later in the 1960s. He started as a dabbler in the textile industry and worked his way up to become the largest company in India with Reliance Industries.

In 1986, Dhirubhai Ambani experienced his first significant stroke. He decided to transfer ownership of his firm to his two sons following the paralysis of his right hand. He experienced a second stroke on June 24, 2002, which left him unconscious. On July 6th, he departed from this life.
